Loki

Loki was a long-legged, food-seeking, 80 lb, energetic puppy when we first met him in 2019. He came to our house as our first foster dog. Loki made us become organized, consistent, and prepared dog fosters. We had to puppy-proof everything in our home, including items that we never thought needed protection (like under our bed!). We ensured that there was no food or food dishes out anywhere at any time and we were very consistent in our training with him. Loki was on a short leash for many months until he gained our trust and knew what the expectations were in our home. When we thought he was ready, we put him up for adoption, and he had many families to choose from. However, for every home he went to, we received a call within a week that he was too rambunctious and mischievous. After the second attempt to find Loki a new home, we concluded that he was telling us he just wanted to stay with us! He had consistency and rules in our home, and with that type of direction, he did very well. Loki has grown into a nearly perfect dog! He is very intelligent, excels at obedience training, and still has a lot of energy. Loki’s defining role is being a great leader for other foster dogs that come to our home.
