Foster Feedback:

10/1/15

Palmer just got to our house yesterday, but he's settling in quite well.   He's an excellent snuggler and knows how to sit and shake.   He pulls a bit on a leash, but that could be easily corrected with some training and the proper collar.  I haven't had to kennel him yet, but the previous foster said it isn't his favorite thing.  Palmer does have some food aggression when other dogs are around, so he needs to be monitored when feeding takes place to avoid a fight.  He's a big boy (57 pounds) and can jump up a bit when he'd excited, but again, with training that can be fixed.  He seems to catch on to stuff quick (taking treats nicely instead of jumping for them, for instance).

Palmer is one gorgeous hound! His life before is unknown, but it seems he's learning how to become a dog and a good family member.  He had some difficulty understanding to go outside to potty, but has started to catch on and hasn't had any accidents in the last few days! His foster fur brothers are showing him how to love his toys, instead of shoes. When Palmer is not busy playing with his fur brothers, he loves human time! He is an expert cuddle bug! But, Palmer is also an active boy and may love a running partner. He has been great walking with a little correction and could still use some training. Palmer has been amazing with everyone he meets! He hasn't met any children, so we can't attest to that, but he is a gentle dog. When his humans are away, Palmer has displayed a good amount of separation anxiety and does bark. He doesn't necessarily like being in his kennel, and this could be the cause of the anxiety. With patience, Palmer will be the world's best, most beautiful family member.
